"What does it mean to be an American ?

... even the Americans don't really know.

Because things that we cannot touch, cannot see with our physicality seem difficult to understand.

We talk about Love as well, but can you buy a pound of it at your grocery store?

Is it like milk?

Do you buy it by the liter?

Or by the quart?

Yet Love is real - (telephone rings) - ... that's confirmation.

So what does it mean to be an American?

What does it mean to have a Soul, a Spirit, a Mind?

What does it mean to be a Lover, a Peace-Maker, a Fighter, a Warrior?

What does it mean... all these things?

It's because we have lost sight of the capacity to see with our hearts, that we have lost contact with the true meaning of these things of tremendous significance.

What I said before the tape started is that many people have gotten used to a convention, a belief, an idea or a context which has been in common usage now for 200 plus years, that America is a physical jurisdiction, a place on the continent of North America.

But it is not there.

America was not born on a piece of land surrounded by two oceans.

The birth of America took place in the Heart, the Mind and the Soul of spiritual beings trying to express their higher Truth.

And they wanted to free themselves from the shackles of inferior social construction, inferior social order. Societies which were tyrannical by nature and by law.

And they wanted to have a new start, a fresh start free from all of these imperfections of the human mind. Because society is mostly an organization of the human mind. And all of the flaws and mistakes come from the mind, but not the Spirit.

The Spirit knows that there can be a more Perfect Union.

That there can be a more Perfect Existence of Society.

The Spirit Knows, the Heart Feels, but the Mind does not quite understand.

So the Mind goes through a process of experimentation to try to achieve the Greatness of that Society which Ronald Reagan said "The Great City on the Hill".

We feel in our Heart and in our Soul when we are closer and we also feel when we are further from this goal.

This is the Miracle of human life.

What we call progress: that we can actually know (we sense it on some level) when we are getting closer or when we are going farther from that Goal.

When we get closer, we feel unified in a common purpose, when we fall away, when we drift away from this Higher Purpose, we feel divided against Ourselves, we feel sadder, we feel it to be a lesser society.

So we have three main factors: We have the Spirit, the Heart and the Mind.

The Spirit wants to express Perfection, the Heart wants to experience emotionally this Perfection and the mind wants to understand how to manifest this Perfection.

Our scientific community in their Great exploration of Truth is always moving more and more toward fundamental Truths in their discovery of how the Natural Order works.

And the thing that drives them, that inspires them in this long search, sometimes for decades at a time before achievement, the thing that keeps them at their work, the dedication of their Greatness, comes from their Spirits. Because their Spirits know, that there is something Beautiful to be discovered.

Otherwise they would not waste their time.

They know, that there is something worthwhile left to be discovered and they want to be there, just like CNN, they want to be there as it happens.

They want to be on the fore-front of discovering this Glorification of what they know to be Great.

So we have these instinctive processes taking place where our best and our brightest are moving forward to discover the Nature of Reality, the Nature of Truth.

Yet on some level, our humanity, our Souls are suffering.

And this is something that people don't understand.

If we are moving forward, why are we still suffering as societies?

Why is there still suffering?

That's because we are not able to see the Perfection with our physical eyes that the Spirit knows with its Heart, the Soul knows, that there is a Perfect Way.

It is what some people have always called the Manifestation of Heaven on Earth.

It has become a purely theoretical expectation like the Golden Fleece.

They are mythological manifestations in our historical accounts. We don't know, if they really existed. If they ever existed.

We think Heaven is a mythical representation, a symbolic representation of our deepest desires, but that it doesn't really exist. That it is not really possible to manifest this type of perfection in the physical world.

And that is the primary mistake here in the thinking of modern man.

Just like we could not believe that the Wright Brothers would achieve flight with a physical contraption.

Just like we could not believe that we can place Men on the Moon - a feat beyond the technological capacities of the day.

Just like we cannot believe that the Earth was really round when everyone can see that it is flat.

Our perceptions are limited by our physical tendencies but always there are some who can see beyond the horizon. Those with the capacity to visualize the future before it arrives.

This is the Gift of the Spirit.

This is a Divine Blessing.

The capacity to know when all others are saying it is not possible.

The capacity to know that something is achievable.

That something is possible.

So why would the Americans believe or the ancestors of the Americans, the Forefathers, believe that it were possible to realize physical and spiritual Freedom in a world where everybody knows, that the king owns everything.

That the king can do whatever he wants.

Why even bother fighting the paradigm of earthly power?

Sure maybe there is a God somewhere. But who says He supports Personal Freedom and Responsibility?

Who says that?

Where is it proven?

And this is the kind of situation that we are in every day of life.

We are constantly confronted by the nay-sayers. Those who can only see what is in front of their nose, after they run into the wall.

They will not consider the possibility, that something else lies ahead.

This is the modern disease of the modern mind and it has its affects... are due to the rapid changes that mankind is facing technologically, sociologically.

Because our society has changed so rapidly in the last hundred years, we don't want to see farther than our nose.

Because we cannot handle... we cannot adapt so quickly.

People are over-stressed with change.

The human organism has been put through monumental change which nobody thought possible.

That's a testimony to the adaptability of the human species. The capacity to adapt to such tremendous change.

Yet going back to the original impulse of what it means to be an American:

Is that the Spirit knows, that there is something fundamentally right about permitting Men to act in Freedom and Personal Responsibility.

There is something fundamentally right.

And the reason is, because it is the Destiny of Mankind. It is pre-ordained.

You got an advanced copy of the future.

America is a prototype of a model of the future of human civilization - not only on this planet, but everywhere.

So you have to see the context and the monumental achievement in the context of what we consider human affairs, that individuals have created a very powerful socio-economic structure on the continent of America on a principle of Freedom.

Inspired by their Spiritual Understanding of Truth.

But it is an adolescent manifestation of this Great Vision. It is not fully mature yet.

And with all adolescents, they get into trouble.

Sometimes they bend the rules, sometimes they break the rules, sometimes they do things that they should not do.

And that is the same thing that happened with America.

America is an experiment.

And now they have reached a point in their evolutionary destiny where they have to make a fundamental decision about the nature of their Truth.

It is a Spiritual Manifestation.

What do they stand for? What do they believe in?

It is the most difficult phase in an adolescents' development when they have to decide what they stand for.

Who they are.

What will they fight for?

What will they defend?

To grow up for an adolescent is a very difficult thing.

To walk outside the shadow of the structure of the parents and carry the responsibility on its own shoulders.

Its own Truth.

And this is where America finds itself 30 years after the Vietnam situation, 40 years after all these protests about alternative thinking, the fork in the road is coming back together again to a point of unification and responsibility and adulthood.

American politics is struggling to come back to its maturity.

I already expressed this on another topic, another time, about the adolescent nature of the Democratic Party.

That they all have to go to their barber and get this grey put in their hair, so that people take them seriously.

So that we don't think they are 16 year-olds practicing their virility.

So, what it is, is that the 60-ies 'till now, offered an opportunity for them to try-out all sorts of crazy ideas.

But none of them were really a life-style choice. None of them were really cultural building-blocks for a cultural society.

They were experiments.

And like with most experiments, one learns from one's mistakes.

So we have reached this cumulative point, where America has to decide what they stand for.

And the precursor of this responsibility was in the initiative to stabilize the Middle-East. Finally.

And Great Britain and America moved from being irresponsible adolescents to responsible adults in world affairs.

And the secondary affect of this responsibility is that their Spiritual Integrity is magnified and it is a return to social stability.

What does it mean to be an American?

An American is not someone who lives on the continent of North America.

An American is someone who has the capacity to visualize the Universal Dream of human Freedom.

It is a Spiritual State of Consciousness which we often describe as a dream.

We call it the American Dream.

Because things that we don't see standing there in terms of bricks and mortar physicality.

Things of the Spirit.

We always compare it to dream states.

But there are such things as dreams which are Reality.

Whether we can physically realize them or not, they are Reality.

GOD is a Reality.

GOD is not a dream.

GOD is not a myth.

Yet most people cannot physically grasp the Reality of GOD.

But it does not make Him any less REAL.

It is the same thing with being an American.

What does it mean to be an American?

It means to believe in something that others cannot see.

Can you see Freedom?

Do you buy a liter of Freedom in the grocery store?

Do you put a liter of gas in your car and a liter of Freedom in there as well?

A gallon of Freedom - have you heard of that?

So what is Freedom?

Freedom is the same quantifiable Essence as the Spiritual Reality of the individual Spirit and the Spirit of GOD.

These are quantifiable Essences of a High Order. A High Order Reality beyond the physical understanding of the mind of Man.

Yet it is REAL.

And there is a direct correlation between the Freedom of Men and the Freedom of GOD.

If we are the Children of God, should we not inherit the same Rights and Freedom of GOD?

And this is what the Principle of the American Dream is.

The foundation of the American culture:

To found a nation on the Principles of GOD as Children of GOD, as a Family of GOD, as a Reality, a Manifestation of GOD in human form.

To demonstrate all the Attributes of GOD in the Responsible physicality of being human.

Since we are Children of GOD, we have to be careful not to give GOD a bad name by our actions, by our behaviour.

And this is the fundamental flaw of too much Freedom without an understanding about where the Freedom came from and to what Purpose.

We do not have the Freedom to violate our Personal, Spiritual Integrity.

We do not have the Freedom to violate the Spiritual Integrity of others.

We do not have the Freedom to violate the Dignity of GOD.

We do not have the Freedom to desecrate the Churches.

We do not have the Freedom to turn the world upside down.

We do not have the Freedom to do all sorts of aberrative, stupid things.

Yes, we make mistakes. Yes, we go on binges. Yes, we do all sorts of things.

But there has to come a point in an individual's life, when one stops doing things just because one can and does them because they are fundamentally right.

And that's what it truly means to be an American.

Not just someone who has Personal Freedom from tyranny.

But has responsibility not to tyrannize others or desecrate the Sacred.

The American experiment has faltered because the Great Responsibility of Freedom has been under-estimated.

Individuals have taken it for granted and began the path of social degeneration, intellectual degeneration, emotional degeneration.

The Freedom to destroy themselves was not what the Founding Fathers were considering.

The Freedom to live a healthy and prosperous Life, not to destroy oneself.

To be an American is a Glorious State of Spiritual Awareness:

It is a fundamental Truth. All human beings aspire to be Free.

Freedom is not a continental U.S.A. phenomenon.

Freedom is a Spiritual Ambition of human beings everywhere.

But you see there are certain skills that Free People have to learn in order to be prosperous, to be successful.

And those skills resonate around the Principles of Personal Responsibility, Fundamental Benevolence, Accountability, Truth, Assistance.

When our institutions forget the fundamental Principles upon which they are founded, they start perpetrating things which would make our Founding Fathers blush with shame. It would make Abraham Lincoln turn in the grave and turn away from these people.

So when we violate our fundamental Principles, we are becoming a lesser nation.

When we aspire to fulfill the fundamental Dignity of those Founding Fathers' Principles, everyone in the world says:

"Yes, America is something Great, something to be Aspired to."

And this is the fundamental challenge of America today.

They are confused about what responsibility is.

Responsibility is not about capitulating to the whims of the French to tyrannize the world and to turn everything upside down.

Sometimes responsibility requires that one takes a stand like the American administration did in Iraq against Saddam Hussein and against the short-term economic interests of the French against the well-being of the world.

The French have become a very egocentric, self-indulgent, corrupt people. And don't care about the well-being of the world.

So this conflict between America and the French was inevitable.

The American People must rediscover their Personal Responsibility and their Spiritual Integrity regardless if the French have lost their way on the path to Liberty in the process of oppressing others to fulfill their high standard of living which they don't earn.

The American People have never trampled on other people for the sake of their high standard of living.

And they are being confronted right now to review their Way of Life - on all levels, from the lowest level to the highest level.

It is a Spiritual Renewal which is required to face the uncomfortable facts.

America has achieved many Great things and in many areas she has failed to achieve the simple dignity which she owes her People.

This is this incongruency why people are not sure whether America is the right way of evolution.

This is why people are uncomfortable because they see this incongruency within the culture of America.

But this incongruency is a part of their process of growth and development, as an adolescent moving into full maturity.

Many people in America felt that America was coming to its end.

That easy living is coming to an end, easy money is coming to an end.

And they felt that the glory days of America are at an end.

So the nation will dissolve in some kind of strange way.

But that's what every adolescent feels when the summer days of irresponsibility come to an end.

And the autumn days of adult responsibility begin.

We have to say good-bye to our childhood and make the difficult decisions and stand one's ground for what is right.

And there will be people around the world who point fingers and say:

"It is not right that you take these responsibilities."

But then one has to ask oneself:

"Who else is there? Is there anyone else who can take responsibility?"

And one sees that in all factual reality - no. There is no one else who has the moral leadership.

Like I said earlier, Great Britain had the global responsibility to bring a just global society, global governance and they failed, they stumbled. Because their elites could not evolve and adapt their paradigm to the needs of the modern world.

America did much better, faired much better, but it is also stumbling and criticizing itself incorrectly.

The Iraq war was a necessary act of responsibility in a larger purpose.

It was not a dalliance or an irresponsible act.

To question the Iraq war is to question the Principles of Moral Leadership.

It is not appropriate to do that.

Many people criticized Abraham Lincoln, when he pursued the war.

He did not like war, he did not want war.

But he needed to do it to unify the nation, to stabilize the nation.

The principle of the Higher Good.

He did not like to hurt anyone.

But many people criticized him, called him all sorts of names.

It was a difficult responsibility for Abraham Lincoln.

But he did it anyway, because he believed, what he was doing was right.

That the Nation came first.

And his personal, political comfort came second.

He was not going to give-in for personal reasons for what he knew was right.

This is the difference between one individual and another.

One individual will give-in to criticism by the French in order to maintain civility and lose the stability of the world order.

And others will say: "Fuck the French!"

"We are going to take responsibility and bring the world stability" - at a tremendous cost to himself.

So you see, when President Bush took the high-road of responsibility, he knew it would be at a great personal cost to his political career.

But responsibility came first.

And this is a demonstration of leadership of the highest order.

You will find this in all Great leaders.

When faced with difficult decisions of this sort, they will always take the road of higher responsibility.

You cannot get better leadership than that.

In all the four corners of the world you will not find better leadership than that.

Like I said much earlier:

All of human history, all of human history in the way that we will develop from here on in, will look back at this time to this Presidency and all of human history will be divided into before the administration of President Bush Junior and after the Presidency of President Bush Junior. Before the Iraq war - after the Iraq war.

This is a fundamental change in the way we administer our world.

From making excuses to taking responsibility.

From making excuses to taking tremendous responsibility.

From making excuses to taking responsibility.

In the heat of a political campaign one looses sight of the most important aspects of leadership, because two men - worthy opponents - want to accentuate their case for the highest office in the land.

A worthy process, but responsibility doesn't play favorites.

When one sits in the saddle, one is saddled with the responsibilities just the same.

The buck stops here.

So it doesn't matter who comes into the situation.

The realities are the realities.

And the responsibilities are the responsibilities.

And this is the nature of Life as we find it here in the 21st Century that leadership requires Truth and recognition and strength beyond simple political ideologies.

Because we are now in a global world with tremendous global responsibilities.

That means that the American People for the first time since the creation of their nation have to make this fundamental decision:

Are they ripe for global responsibility?

Or do they want to go back to the days of sitting in their diapers in a sandbox and leaving the responsibility to someone else.

All of us want to go back to our childhood where we had no worries, no cares.

We could just play endlessly all day long.

And I believe that this is fundamentally what is going on in America culturally.

It is not a political issue. It is a Spiritual, Cultural issue.

And it is not just the Americans.

Everyone is being challenged to go up to the next level of responsibility.

It cannot be avoided.

This is what evolution is challenging us to. If we don't recognize the Truth about this, we cannot grow. Humanity cannot grow.

We are all faced with personal responsibility to a degree that we are not used to.

Our grand-parents stormed the beaches of Normandy and paid a tremendous price for an impossible situation which they ended up mastering.

Never before since that time have we been asked to make such Great sacrifices to become responsible citizens not only of our nations, but of the whole world.

We are responsible for our brothers and sisters, wherever they may be.

We cannot turn away and say it is not our problem.

Because in Truth inside every human being there is an American waiting to emerge into Freedom.

It is not easy, because of the cultural diversity of our globe, of our world.

It does not mean that every human being is an American of the caliber of a U.S. American or of an continental American.

What it is, is that every human being has the spiritual desire to pursue their full potential in the context of Personal Responsibility and Personal Freedom.

And all the social structures, the political structures of the world must realign to this purpose.

All the economic structures have to realign to this purpose.

So we are facing fundamentally an unbelievable re-ordering of human affairs on a global scale.

For the first time - really for the first time - we are standing on the threshold of entering a world of the global citizen, the unified world.

It is an amazing process after so many thousands of years of human civilizations. Being a tribal being. Running around, culturally distinct, we are now coming into a global community with global responsibilities.

And responsibility is the key word of our day.

We cannot do things that put others at risk.

We cannot have rogue nations building ABC-weapons in order to threaten their neighbors and the whole globe.

And because of that, accountability is also a keyword of our day.

The summer is over and the responsible days of the fall - of learning - have begun

Let us enter these days of responsibility with a strengthened heart that to know what we are doing is fundamentally right.

Freedom is the paradigm of the future. No other paradigm can work.

But personal responsibility - to do what is benevolent - is the qualifier for this Freedom.

Freedom without the responsibility of this benevolent intent is not Freedom, it is anarchy.

And anarchy cannot be tolerated.

So either they come up to the plate and demonstrate responsibility or they will lose their Freedom.

This is the reality which President Bush and Prime Minister Tony Blair have understood:

Is that accountability and responsibility must be demonstrated in order to guarantee security.

This is the fundamental Principle about the peace negotiations in the Middle-East, that there cannot be negotiations for peace with terror.

One has to be accountable and stop terror and negotiate in Good Faith.

This is the Principle - I am telling you - is very important:

Responsibility, accountability together manifest as Good Faith.

Without Good Faith relations there is no value in those relations.

And that is what responsibility in our day requires.

No more adolescent irresponsibilities - making excuses like in Sudan:

They are making excuses to the United Nations, about why they cannot stop the genocide, when actually they are perpetrating the genocide.

I mean, who do they think we are? Fools?

So, when people talk out of both sides of their mouth at the same time, know you are dealing with a liar and then take appropriate action.

This is the nature of our responsibility.

We cannot afford to have liars murdering their own people, persecuting their own people and calling themselves a legitimate government.

No legitimate government can engage in the process of genocide.

We have learned that in WW-II with Hitler, the Nazi regime of Germany 1939-1945. It perpetrated crimes against its own people under its administration and those areas that they had militarily conquered.

It is a fundamental precept of civilized societies that we do not persecute societies that are under our administration.

And this is the struggle we are in right now:

To recognize our True Responsibilities.

That is why it is not a political issue.

This is not a Democratic or Republican issue.

This is a leadership issue.

This is a global issue.

This is an issue of fundamental Responsibility.

We have to start speaking the language of Responsibility.

And must avoid confusing issues for personal profit and gain or short-term political profit and gain.

No Presidency of the United States is worth the destruction of the human civilization.

No U.S. Presidency is worth the confusion of global policy.

And this is, unfortunately, sadly, where the United Stated has failed:

To elevate their society to a higher level of Responsibility.

No Presidential election should be campaigned on the basis of foreign policy.

Foreign policy is a national issue of both parties.

It is an issue of national consensus.

It is NOT something which should be used to create national division.

It is an irresponsible act from some consultants to temporarily win some points politically and destabilize the world order.

It is this continuous attempt to divide America into two camps that makes the world unstable.

It is the reason why Rome collapsed on itself.

Because they thought they were so strong, that they could tolerate inner division and they were so drunk on their stupor of wine and whatever that it was not 'till the barbarians were banging on their city gates that they figured out that they were not that strong.

And that's exactly what happened in America.

The barbarians have banged on their city gates in New York and destroyed the two towers.

It is time to stop the process of inner division.

It is time to begin the Process of Unification and Truth and Responsibility.

The world is NOT a sandbox for two babies in diapers to throw sand at each other.

The world is an unbelievably important, significant player in the context of Cosmic Intent.

You have responsibilities beyond your wildest dreams.

So stop throwing sand at each other's hair.

And Become the Great Men and Women which you have been Destined to Become.
